Owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Klemens and Lisa Branner, the company is dedicated to handcrafting high performance snowboards while minimizing environmental impact. Some local NSW guys have used the FirstLight Slider pucks on thier recent DIY Splitboard project. See the boards getting made and being tested in the NSW main range Headed up to Mt Twynam on Sat to see what the conditions were like. The 7Km trip to the top was mainly on boiler plate ice! At the top it was a little better with only a thin ice layer over some knee deep fresh. Short break at the top then time to head back down. All up 14Km traveled. Hope the conditions get better later in the season! A few more boards knocked up for some NSW locals. There will be more and more of us out there this year. Get your old board converted today or even a brand new one! This year we are continuing the weekend tours but now we also have a fleet of Splitboards for hire. Contact us if want to give Splitboarding a go. We headed out for the first trip of 2011. Keen to see what he last 2 weeks of snow had done for the base in the NSW main range. The conditions varied from soft unpacked cover to sheet ice on the upper exposed slopes. These exposed slope made us wish we had packed crampons. We were able to do some long touring due the had packed upper terrain but the boarding was not that flash as most of the ridding was on pure ice. With blue bird days and -6 at night the temperature swing was about 12 degrees. At least this will give a good base that will hopefully last the season. Some photos below. |
